| When I look at the calendar for the lake swim. It was on August 1 to 3 and then I didn't realized that it was a Civic long weekend so I emailed the secretary for the Solo, Marilyn Kosweka and asked her to see if the Solo is okay if I can add the extra day from August 3 to 4. They changed the date so Im ready to go for August 1 to 4 in case we have to postpone the swim because of the weather. And to give us more time. So Im praying that the weather will be more cooperate with me and my crew during the swim. | | |
| Last Tuesday, March 18, I met and had our first meeting with my team manager, Chris Kenopic at the Tim Hortons in Acton at 8:30am and we discussed for an hour. It was a very good meeting and lots of information to share. I was really looking forward for Chris to start with the formal letter for sponsor/donation sometime this week. He also say he have few friends that might help out such like website, reporter, deaf doctor, etc. to help organized with the big event. When I first got home from Acton, I immediately email to ASL Interpreter, Peggy DiCarlo and see if she's interest to volunteer as an interpreter for my big swim and asked her for another ASL Interpreter, Peggy Zehr's email address. I also email to Grimsby Rescue Unit and they say they will get back to me sometime this week or next week. Im getting excited to get things start this week. :) | | |
| Last Thursday, March 13, I swam the non-stop at the pool as Jamie want me to finish 4km in 1.5 hour. I swam and swam and only stop per km to drink. 1 km = 17:04 2km = 17:18 3km = 17:38 4km = 17:20 I kept my pace the whole time and Jamie was impressed with my time and hopefully I continue to keep or improve my pace like this during the lake swim. Those time right now have been better than a year ago. The result is that I finished 4 km in one hour and ten minute. I was a little tired but I was doing fine. | | |
| Sometime on the second week of February 2008, I finally found a team manager, Chris Kenopic. So far I know, he is really good with medias so I thought he would be a perfect team manager for my swim crew and organizing everything. I asked Chris if he's interesting to be a team manager for my swim crew. He say he's really interest and this is a different job from what he work in the past and this is more challenging. So Im very happy that I found a team manager so now I can focus more on my swimming training. :) :) | | |
| On November 21 2007, I had an operation and was supposed to be off for 6 to 8 weeks and I was already back into the pool 3 weeks after the surgery but Im taking it easy by using the fins. About a week later, Jamie want to videotape me and other swimmers and see if I need any change during my swim. He say my stroke and kicking was smoothly and nicely but need to fix my head down in the water a little bit. Just a week before the Christmas holiday I received a pnemonia in my left lung and I still swim at the pool and the pnemonia was gone about 2 weeks later. In January, before I was back into the Milton's pool, I swam at the YMCA in Guelph to see how I was swimming - surpriseily I swam well and is able to swam hard. Back into the Milton's pool, I swam well. | | |
